For the Cooke family, next month (May 2023) marks 10 years serving as missionaries in Papua New Guinea. As the Country Director for Samaritan Aviation, Chris leads the team in PNG as they carry out the mission: to provide the hope found only in Jesus. and to provide access to life-saving medical treatment to thousands of people living in remote villages along the Sepik River. As the Outreach Coordinator, Sarah develops and implements preventative medical outreaches as well evangelistic outreaches to be carried out in the villages. They are blessed to be able to serve alongside of their 7 children (the youngest 3 of which were adopted in PNG), each of whom are actively involved in the ministry as well, with anything from assisting with medical deliveries, visiting patients in the hospital, or organizing a med supply room.
Instead of a 1-3 day canoe trip down the rivers of remote jungles, Samaritan Aviation’s critical life flights take mere hours to reach the only hospital in province. Through Samaritan Aviation, remote river aid posts are given consistent deliveries of much needed medicine and medical supplies. The ongoing hospital ministry not only provides access to food and clothing, but the team also prays with each patient and presents an opportunity for them to hear a clear Gospel message.
